Robert Burke, better known as the Naked Cowboy, announces his candidacy for President of the United States at a news conference in New York's Times Square (via the Irish Independent)

I have not the words. Except to say is the suit and tie really necessary?

Day 6 - Favorite super hero and why

Hands down the Powerpuff Girls. My nickname is Mojo-Jojo for the love of lucifer. I used to watch it all the time in primary school. This was back when Cartoon Network was still somewhat decent (Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog- I'm sorry but the shit they show kids today, no wonder they all have ADD).
Anyway, anyway, anyway, yeah the Powerpuff Girls kicked ass and took names. Literally. The violence portrayed is appalling. They LITERALLY kick the SHIT out of those bad guys. Broken bones, smashed teeth, blood everywhere. I'm surprised I was allowed watch it at all.

So the deal is that Professor Utonium wanted to make "the perfect little girls" by using "sugar... spice... and everything nice." But, tit that he is, he accidentally spilled some Chemical X into the mixture which resulted in the girls each having superpowers. Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. Girl Power and all that. Thrilling stuff. Wow, I did not think I was going to have this much to say on this topic.

Sungha Jung

This little fella is too amazing for words. He's not just brilliant for his age, he's brilliant period. Watch some of his vids. There are tonnes on Youtube. This is just a personal favourite. His version of the Beatles' Come Together c'est très magnifique.

Ricky Gervais is fast becoming one my heroes. His speech here is dead on. Even though I do enjoy X-Factor. But only really after boot camp. He was painfully funny hosting the Golden Globes. If you don't agree, seek help.

Faux Pas

The only thing funny about a faux pas is its pronunciation. I had (did? experienced? ) one yesterday. I was with two friends walking into Henry Street in Dublin for a spot of browsing. I say 'browsing' because we were far too hungover to actually get down to some serious shopping. Anyway, anyway, anyway, there was this guy at the corner standing on a plastic crate with a megaphone preaching about Jesus H. and how we should all accept him into our hearts and yadda yadda yadda. We (like every other passer-by) ignored him and went into a department store to sample perfumes and makeup and try on shoes and sunglasses. Basically, to be an annoyance to every salesperson in there because they, like we, knew weren't going to buy anything. Anyway, anyway, anyway, when we came out, we headed back in the direction of the aforementioned preacher man. While we were waiting for a green man to help us cross the road, I heard the megaphone again and said not quietly (and remember- still hungover) "Oh would he just give it a REST?" This garnered some dirty looks from people around me. I looked over to the man with the megaphone not realising that it was a completely different guy who was ranting about our national debt of E50 billion and calling for action. I'm such a twat.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Turn up your radio. Watch lots of telly and eat loads of choc. Feel guilty. Stay up all night. Learn everything in six hours that has taken you two years to compile. That's how I did it."

- Dawn French

Day 5- A picture of somewhere you’ve been to

Ok these challenges can't all be winners I suppose.

Many's a place I've been. I've been here. I've even been over there. I'm working on everywhere as we speak.
But I do so love the city of New York. I spent last summer working as a waitress in a restaurant in Queens. It was the best summer of my life. Not because of the waitressing thing. I hated that. Working double shifts, on my feet all day and being nice to arseholes for shit tips? No, it was the best summer ever because of where I was and who I was with. It's an amazing city and I will live there one day. So here she be:

As a side note. We happened to be downtown when we came across Mariah Carey filming a music video outside the Plaza:
